My
Story
_______________________________________________

My passion for politics began in 2022, during my 8th-grade class trip to Washington, DC. The marble monuments, neoclassical spires, and cherry blossoms revealed the incredible positive change that could be achieved with a single stroke of a pen within that city’s walls.

Since then, I’ve been driven to create a system that makes government more accessible and helps others see the same beauty in civic engagement that I discovered on that trip. After all, a government is only as strong as its people, and an uninformed citizenry cannot build a democracy to be proud of.
What inspired PeopleNotPolitics?
I noticed that California provides resources for voters in the form of packets and informational flyers, but this information is consolidated and dense. If it's difficult for me, someone interested in government, imagine how difficult it would be more someone from a lower socioeconomic background, or someone who doesn't understand English as first language. This lead me to wonder . . .

I truly believe our country is passionate about positive change, but what if your voice in the democratic process was silenced, not out of apathy but because you didn’t know where to start? First-time voters face this challenge daily, navigating a complex system that can leave certain voices unheard.

PeopleNotPolitics is here to change that. Our AI-powered chatbot bridges the gap between civic engagement and clarity, empowering first-time voters, breaking down barriers, and fostering a more inclusive democracy.
